The Onion has a satirical panel discussion about poverty in Africa that presents many discussion possibilities.

Milton Friedman confronts a question from a hostile questioner in 1978 who thinks that socialism is superior to capitalism. Friedman argues that capitalism is a necessary but not sufficient condition for freedom.

Milton Friedman uses Hong Kong to argue that poor people do better under freedom, which for him implies the use of markets.
