There have been a number of examples that
show that many people will sign just about anything. In this
clip
a young lady gets people to sign a petition to ban water, or
as she calls it, dihydrogen monoxide. Why did people sign?
Penn draws some conclusions. Do you agree that his
conclusions are merited by this experiment? Why or why not?
Can you see any other lessons in this clip?
Donald Duck is eager to pay income taxes
in this WWII propaganda film.
When will people sacrifice for the common good? Is it a
privilege, not just a duty, to pay taxes? (Note the
technology for writing--have you ever used a fountain pen?
When did ballpoint pens replace fountain pens?)
